What is "GOLDEN GLORY!"?
"GOLDEN GLORY!" otherwise known as "GGOSC" is an animatic webseries created by Matthew Kozub and produced by M.E.R.E Studios that started in 2018, that features sentient objects and joke characters competing for the ultimate golden prize of a giant gold pyramid worth $100 trillion dollars. The series has expanded with multiple seasons, spin-offs, shorts, a video game, a short story series and an upcoming movie. The series is currently airing episodes of Seasons 9, 10, 11, and remasters of the Pilot Series, Season 1 & 2.
How Was GG Created?
The idea of GG was first created in 2016 with the invention of one of the series's main characters, Brandon The Bowling Ball, when Matthew created him in his math class.Almost 2 years later, Matthew came up with the concept of his very own object show and wanted to feature Brandon in it. That's where he would later get his blue color scheme, and have other pals on the show too, one of which was Hand. Hand was selected to be the host as the host of a show is what drives home the power of the show that's being created, and hands are what we use for interacting with our surroundings. It seemed like a nice fit.A few months later, the first episode of GG, the pilot, was released, and continued in 2020, with a revival after going on hiatus for one and a half years. The revival continued for 11 seasons and is currently on-going.In 2018, a GG Movie was green-lit, and the script was fully written in early-mid 2020. In the summer of 2023, the movie had finally started filming.In 2025, the live action film was cancelled, and production for an animated version was soon underway.
How Is The Show Itself Made?
The original pilot episode was done in a span of one day, animated on Flip-A-Clip, and voice acted on VideoShow.Season 1 and Season 2 were done purely on Google Slides, with visual upgrades across both seasons, solidifying its art style with dark and vibrant gradients. There was no voice acting for almost the entire season, as voice acting was going to be a hassle to find voice actors. Instead, there was subtitles and sample music to fill in the silence.Season 3 onwards were done with the same Google Slides program, but for the first time since the pilot, contained all voice acting and sound effects, and even storyboards created in Microsoft Paint in early shorts & Season 3. This was also the first time someone outside of Matthew or Aspen had worked on the main series.The shorts have used tons of different styles and animation techniques outside of the main series, like GIF's, fluid animation, origami, stop-motion, and even 3D!Over the years, I've shown off these various animation techniques in action via behind the scenes videos. The Characters
Due to a long list of characters, the series instead focuses on 9 main characters to tell an on-going story through out the entire show. Here's what all 9 are about!!LEFT HAND: A person who typically likes to do work revolving around machines and electronics, and is also the creator and one of the current hosts of GOLDEN GLORY! He is also Square-Bot and Circle-Bot's best friend.SQUARE-BOT: A mysterious robot that one day landed in the forests of Mineral Island, and met Hand when he was just a child. Despite him being a robot, he feels all the emotions that we feel, like happiness, anger, sadness, etc. He is one of the current hosts on GOLDEN GLORY! And is Hand and Circle-Bot's best friend.CIRCLE-BOT: Suddenly appearing in Africa, Circle-Bot made her way to Mineral Island, in hopes of finding a more densely populated area to host a show in. After Hand and Square-Bot confronted her "Silver Super!" show being a rip-off of GG, the 3 hosts eventually decided to merge their shows, forming Season 3, and became best friends with Hand and Square-Bot.BRANDON THE BOWLING BALL: A positive, go lucky guy who just wants to live the best life that he possibly can. While he is smart, he can be a bit idiotic at times, like the time where he ate a glass star mistaking it for a Christmas Cookie. He only has a few enemies, like Clock, who's always on his tail. His favorite food is "The World's Largest Onion Ring" which is mainly sold at his favorite restaurant, Bananaflies. He is Diamond's boyfriend and he lives in an apartment in the heart of downtown Lucy City.DIAMOND: A shining gal that made her first debut on the show in Season 2, Diamond is encouraging and leader-like. She has the best problem-solving skills out of the main characters, and will do anything to help her fellow teammates and friends out. She doesn't like it when people do stupid stuff, so she will try to correct them and get them to do the right thing. She is Heart's best friend. She is Brandon's girlfriend and the two plan to get a place together.HEART: As a heart, she is FULL of love. She tends to love everybody and anybody, as that's her whole thing. She doesn't tend to have anything negative traits, but the one thing she does hate is when people don't listen to her. She likes being heard. She's best friends with Diamond, and is Rubber Ball's girlfriend.RUBBER BALL: A circular, rubber bouncy ball, but this one ain't like one you'd find on a playground!! This one is FULL of surprises, including a semi-positive up-beat personality, an energetic attitude, and a shiny red color-pallet that complements the others very well!! He is best friends with Ping Pong Ball and Brandon The Bowling Ball, and is Heart's boyfriend!!PING PONG BALL: A low-voice, and moderately up-beat guy, who wishes nothing but the best for his friends and teammates. Ping Pong Ball is one of the first characters to compete on the show, who has many years of experience with competing, but never seems to win any competitions. But that still doesn't stop him, as he has a never give up attitude!! He is best friends with Rubber Ball, Brandon The Bowling Ball, and Cactus Plant!ICED COFFEE: A clumsy, yet energetic, passionate and helpful fellow to anybody that he meets! Iced Coffee is tied with Hand for the tallest one of the group, and he often likes hanging out with the rest of the crew. Making his debut in Season 3, Iced Coffee has made a ton of friends throughout the entire series, with his best friend being Mug. She also gets approached and bothered by Axe a lot, who has a MAJOR crush on him, but Iced Coffee ain't having any of that.
